The CARADO Smart Battery System unites two different types of battery (AGM and LI battery). This enables the advantages of both technologies to be exploited, thus significantly increasing the durability of the batteries. Although considerably smaller in size and weight, the usable capacity is almost exactly the same.

Weight savings of about 10 kg, whereby the LI battery, despite having slightly smaller external dimensions than an AGM battery, provides almost three times the same usable capacity as 1 x AGM battery 95 AH.

The existing charging technology (the EBL and, if necessary, the battery charger) remains unaffected thanks to intelligent battery management.

Can be installed under the passenger’s seat using a special assembly plate. Therefore, no additional storage space is needed.

Completely winter-proof system – with major advantages, especially when exposed to sub-zero temperatures as the AGM battery accepts charge from the very first second, while at the same time the integrated heater warms the LI battery to a temperature of 10 °C to enable fast charging.

Environmentally friendly – the existing AGM batteries do not need to be disposed of and can continue to be used.

Improved safety – the LI 125 AH battery is a lithium iron phosphate battery (LiFePO4). This means that overheating or combustion will not occur!

Improved charging – the battery draws current as soon as the engine starts and throughout the entire journey --> no delayed response time due to the start-up curve of the chemical process in AGM batteries.

Improved economy – a relatively inexpensive introduction to the world of LI batteries as the existing AGM battery can continue to be used.

The perfect upgrade – the 5-cell block is an excellent choice for customers who want to retrofit a second battery to increase the available capacity. Compared to retrofitting another AGM battery, the existing lead battery (AGM) can continue to be used and does not need to be replaced*.

An optimal solution – even when replacing the AGM batteries due to wear.

Flexible – if required, the system can also be expanded with one or more 2-cell blocks; this can also be done in stages. The LI battery can be installed in any position.

Robust overall system – the tried-and-tested lead battery in combination with the LI battery provides outstanding performance across a wide temperature range. Unlike pure lithium batteries, it can even be charged in temperatures below 0°C. 

Fail-safe – even if one battery module is defective (visible on the battery), the remaining modules remain intact as each module has its own battery management system. Therefore, a failure of the electrical onboard power supply or the entire battery is almost impossible.

Certified quality – the LI battery is ECE-approved has been tested by the TÜV for temperature fluctuations and vibrations.

Made in Germany – the LI battery is manufactured in Germany.
